Abstract

This study reviews the analysis and strengthening of reinforced concrete beams, particularly under structural uncertainty, excessive loading, construction deficiencies, deterioration and maintenance-related problems. It examines innovative approaches involving composite materials for improving the load-carrying capacity, ductility and structural performance of reinforced concrete beams.

Abstract

This research investigates the structural performance of different bridge deck and girder configurations under dynamic vehicle loading. Concrete I-girder and composite steel girder bridge systems with different span lengths are analyzed using ANSYS. Structural responses including deformation, stress, strain, shear stress, strain energy and frequency are evaluated under IRC Class-AA loading.

Abstract

This study investigates a hybrid power-filtering approach for reducing harmonic distortion produced by nonlinear electrical loads. The proposed configuration combines passive and active filtering techniques and employs control strategies including SRF, PI control and Instantaneous Reactive Power Theory. MATLAB simulations are used to evaluate the system under different loading conditions and assess improvements in power quality.

Abstract

This work examines the implementation of DSTATCOM in a distributed power generation system for improving power quality. Gravitational Search Algorithm and Cuckoo Search Algorithm based control approaches are compared using MATLAB/Simulink. The system is evaluated for harmonic reduction, reactive power compensation, load balancing and voltage regulation at the point of common coupling.

Abstract

This study presents the design and development of a compact automated hammering machine intended for repetitive workshop operations. The system converts rotary motion into reciprocating hammering action using mechanical components such as a DC motor, pulley, shaft and crank mechanism. The prototype aims to reduce operator fatigue, improve consistency and increase productivity while maintaining a simple and cost-effective design.

Abstract

This paper investigates the integration of a DC-DC boost converter with a solar photovoltaic system for improving energy conversion efficiency. The study considers the influence of operating conditions such as temperature, solar insolation, array configuration and shading on PV performance. The proposed configuration uses a boost converter between the photovoltaic module and load to support efficient maximum-power operation.

Abstract

This project presents a Bluetooth-controlled floor cleaning machine designed for both wet and dry surface cleaning. The system incorporates cleaning brushes, a sponge mop and a fan to improve the cleaning and drying process. The design focuses on simple construction, portability, ease of operation and low cost, making it suitable for domestic as well as larger indoor spaces.

Abstract

This study investigates the thermal and hydrodynamic behaviour of lubricant in a journal bearing using Computational Fluid Dynamics. Three-dimensional analysis is employed to evaluate pressure and temperature distributions within the lubricant film. The approach considers the effect of heat generation and viscosity variation in order to predict journal-bearing performance under high-speed operating conditions.
